LOUPS Pub Social - Sex-linked serial killers (Part 2)
A talk by Professor Frederick Toates
Talk begins at 8pm for an hour, followed by Q&A.
The London Open University Psychology Society (LOUPS) are delighted to welcome Professor Frederick Toates to present this update to the research he has carried out since his last talk at the OUSA Conference in 2018 (See here for recordings).
The lecture will consider a number of phenomena associated with sex-linked serial killing, such as head injury, sex differences, adoption, dissociation and fetishes.
It will examine these and other aspects of this behaviour by looking at the lives of Aileen Wuornos, Michael Ross, Neville Heath, Bobby Jo Long and Fred and Rosemary West.
Frederick is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the Open University and President of OUPS. His research concerns motivation and emotion and the application of basic principles to understanding a wide range of behaviour, including addictions and obsessions. His latest publication 'A framework for understanding sexual violence: Incentive-motivation and hierarchical control' appeared in the journal 'Aggression and Violent Behavior'.
