DE200 Qualitative Methods Workshop (Glasgow)

Print
4th April 2020, GCU, Glasgow
Price£20.00
Description

Prepare for TMA04 with a half-day seminar dedicated to consolidating what you have learnt about qualitative research methods on DE200.

£5 discount when booked at the same time as our Glasgow DE200 Quantitative and SPSS Support Day (TMA02)

Please note: we will not be discussing the actual TMA04 during the workshop, and our tutor will not be able to take questions relating directly to the TMA. You should always contact your own tutor in the first instance for any help like this.

Quantitative methods are key to two upcoming assignments in this part of the module (TMA04 and iCMA42), so it is important that you feel comfortable and confident in using these.

This half-day workshop is designed to build your confidence with qualitative methods and will help you to put what you have learned during DE200 into practice.

Tutor

Our tutor for this workshop will be Judith Horne.  Judith has been a tutor with The OU since 2008 and has experience of teaching many different modules (DSE212, DD307, DE100, DE200, DE300, DD210, DD317*). She has degrees in English and Psychology and specialises in discursive psychology, an area of qualitative psychology. She also teaches part-time for a college and is currently completing an EdD (Doctorate in Education) on student interaction on Facebook. She is the author of a paper using discursive psychology called 'Doing being 'on the edge': managing the dilemma of being authentically suicidal in an online forum'.
